GANGTOK
Gangtok is the charming capital city of Sikkim, nestled in the lap of the Himalayas. One of the most popular tourist attractions in Gangtok is MG Marg, a bustling pedestrian street that is the heart of the city's social and cultural life. This lively street is lined with shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars, and is a great place to relax, unwind, and soak in the local vibe. MG Marg is also a popular spot for souvenir shopping, with a variety of handicrafts, clothing, and trinkets available for purchase. You can also sample some delicious local delicacies at the many street food stalls that dot the street, including momos, thukpa, and other Sikkimese specialties. Another must-visit attraction in Gangtok is the Gangtok Ropeway, which offers stunning views of the city and the surrounding mountains. The ropeway ride takes you from Deorali Bazaar to Tashiling, covering a distance of about 1 km in just 7 minutes. The view from the cable car is simply breathtaking, with panoramic vistas of the snow-capped peaks and the lush green valleys. The ropeway is open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm every day, and tickets can be purchased at the Deorali Bazaar ropeway station. It's a popular attraction, so be prepared for some crowds during peak season.
